BJJ Amersfoort competition blog

Brazilian jiujitsu competitions are a great way to see where you currently stand in your own BJJ career. The Amersfoort BJJ team therefore traveled to Rotterdam last weekend to test their jiujitsu skills. The students of Amersfoort BJJ, Jelle, Kevin Tariq, Ruben and Pieter showed that with a few months of training it is possible to apply the concepts and principles of Gracie Jiujitsu in practice, under high resistance. They managed to win two gold medals(Kevin Tariq, Ruben) and bronze BJJ medal(Jelle). Pieter fell just outside the boat with a fourth place but went home with a great learning experience!
Participating in Brazilian Jiujitsu tournaments is not mandatory but it is advisable to do it once, to test how you are doing under pressure and resistance. We from BJJ Amersfoort can guide you when you feel mentally and physically ready. Also, you do not have to worry about age and weight as there are different age divisions and weight classes.

JiuJitsu puts you completely in the moment, where you must have a complete focus on finding a solution to the problem. This trains the mind to build that focus, to increase your awareness, your capacity to solve problems.
